Do you want some more inspiration?

Early in 1950, in Holland, two young lovers said goodbye, as the young girl was emigrating to South Africa with her family.  He promised her that he would follow as soon as he had saved enough money to pay for the sea voyage to Durban.  A year later they were reunited, and were married in 1956 and remained married to each other for the next 41 years, until his death. . The young man was my father and the young girl, my mother, who still remains true to him.  A true love story!  My calendar topper tells the story of that young love.

Midway Through May - Challenge #47 Family Tree

Hello to all our lovely followers and readers - welcome to our Mid May post! We are back to autumnal weather again here in Tassie but have had our share of cold and snow. My photo today is off FB and was taken by Leena Wizz of the Ross Bridge. Ross is a small town in central Tasmania and this bridge was built by convicts in 1836. It is the 3rd oldest stone bridge still in operation in Australia.

After the eye candy, the information. We have a May Challenge!
Remember the prize for this month is the following diecut:

The team have surprised me yet again with their amazing creativity - just look at this lot and say they are not inspirational! Please visit their sites and give them the love they deserve!

I interpreted the theme slightly differently to think of members of the family as  different elements of a tree (flower/ fruits, roots, flora , fauna), with light meaning family bond in the center. The project depicts family journey through history

April's Winners Post

Hello Peeps - welcome to the second post in May, where we announce the winners from the previous month. Remember, this happens on a |Monday in Australia! Tasmania to be precise 'cause that's where I live! I set the post to go live at 2.00 a.m. Aust. Eastern Standard Time.

Happy Mother's Day to you all for yesterday. I hope you all had a great day doing what you wanted.

I spent my day at the soccer watching the eldest Granddaughter play - the wet, windy, hot, cold, sunny, wet, windy hot, sunny (you get the idea) day exemplifies why we Tasmanians are always talking about the weather! Still, we had champagne and nibbles as well so why complain!

No, on with the announcing!

Our Challenge #46 for April was

OH BABY!

The TWIST is to make your project fairly non-traditional for babies...

The Prize - new/unused

May's Challenge #47 - Family History

Hello everyone - I hope you are all well and safe, and enjoying the season. We are having a gentle slide into winter, and today has been bonny! I do enjoy a good autumnal day. This was our place early one morning last week......

Well, we obviously made life too difficult for you all last month, expect for an intrepid four who had a go at our challenge - winners will be announced next Monday as per usual so you will have to curb your curiosity for seven days!

This month we are thinking about family - not just mothers - and what the various members of it mean to us, and indeed what makes a family. Some of us have different families to others and it would be nice to hear about your families in your blogs when you enter.

The theme is

Family History - who is in your family tree?

Make a scrap page or create a card or photo page/inside a frame about a family member
who is in the past.

The TWIST is to make it VINTAGE

This is the prize being offered:

We have several Guest Designers this month, and today we are sharing one by
Ramona, from Create with Joy
Ramona wrote that
"This layout is very special because my Mom is no longer with me - she went to heaven a little over a year ago - and I am still processing the loss. This photo was taken before I was born. She served our country as a Marine at a time when that sort of thing was unheard of - and I often reflect upon the courage, commitment and pioneering spirit she must have had as a young woman to pursue that path."

In addition, our Design Team have come up with some beautiful inspiration projects for you to peruse and I would urge you to go to their blogs and give them all the love they deserve!
