Happy New Year
2012
is here!
We have made it through six exciting months of challenges and are now looking forward to a full year of challenges. We are so happy to see so many regulars in our challenges and to see what amazing things you can create without the use of Stamps.
We hope to bring you a year full of exciting new challenges through themes and techniques.
To help with this we have our new Design Team members starting with this challenge.
Please offer a warm welcome to JanR, Monica, Beth and Susan. I am sure they will inspire you with their wonderful creations each month.
You were all so creative in our last challenge. This certainly kept the Design Team busy trying to decide on a favourite but we did it.
Loz a Grandfather Clock Tent card, isn't it a fantastic shape. The clock dials are Tim Holtz. Loz used peel-off stickers for the numbers and sentiment and borders.
Congratulations Loz!!

Challenge #7 - Anything Goes
(Sorry no bonus entries this challenge.....we will leave it up to you to decide on the technique)
We thought we would make it a little easier after all the running around for Christmas and the New Year.
Also this should give everyone a chance to show off all their wonderful techniques.
Any form of paper creation will be accepted as long as NO STAMPS have been used (this includes sentiments).
IDEAS: quilling, parchment, stickers, boxes, books, cards, scrap pages, etc
You can find our rules here for further information.

Our sponsor this month is me - Merry. :-)
I have tried to put together an 'ANYTHING GOES' prize pack.
This includes: 15 Origami Papers and patterns, purple patterned Washi Tape, double sided tape from Sellotape (12mm x 10m) and three Copic Pens - YR07, Y06 and R27
Time to share what our amazing Design Team have been creating.
Please take the time to visit their blogs and find out more details on how their creations came to be.

(Not sure if this was your pattern Susan but you can find a pattern and tutorial here at Craftmad)
I used half a sheet of 12 x 12 Bazzil card to start with, and constructed a sweet box, with a folder card on top. This pattern I have had for a while but I do not know where I got it from (or who I got it from). I decorated the card using Marianne Design die cuts LR0199, and the clouds are Whimsy Stamps Cloud Die set. All the dies were cut using scrap papers - the launch is Co'ordinations; the yacht and clouds are from a shimmery card purchased some years ago in a pack and lost in my stash for a long time! The sun is from a sparkly DCWV Citrus pack and cut out with a circle punch (1"). They are mounted with dimentionals or double sided tape. The waves were created with Zva Creative crystal flourishes cut to fit. I added a tag with a hand-written message, plus a small metal charm of a nautical steering wheel. The numbers on the yacht sails are stickers and represent the age of the recipient! The message is inside and was computer generated onto white paper and cut to fit inside the card. (Not sure if this was your pattern Susan but you can find a pattern and tutorial here at Craftmad)

Oh SO good to have a challenge blog that doesn't need stamps as I've only recently started with stamping & probably going to have to give it up as I've no real market for it over my decoupaged designs or just plain toppers. But enjoyed doing soemthing ENTIRELY different again for this challenge :)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful examples. So much inspiration!
