and the TWIST is
work in pairs of things.....
So, to be clear, the challenge theme is
Celebrating RELATIONSHIPS.
Relationships aren't just about what happens in your love life!
Most important relationships do involve feelings but don't involve any romance,
for example with family, friends, work colleagues, pets and teachers.
My pictures below are not a pair but two photo's of the same humpback whale
....but I was thinking of our relationship with them now, especially compared
to our murderous relationship with them in the past, when whaling was a
way of life here in Tasmania in the 1800's.
We (or maybe I should say I) love to see these majestic animals in our local waters on their annual migration to and from the Antartic. These two photographs are a wonderful celebration of the current relationship where they no longer fear us as predators.
Brilliant photos of Humpback Whales heading north past Cape Barren Island thanks to Peter Marmion. Humpback whales travel northward to breeding areas off the coast of Queensland and Western Australia between May and July and return southward to their subantarctic feeding grounds between September and November.
Cape Barren Island (Palawa kani: truwana), part of the Furneaux Group, is a 478 square kilometre (185 sq mi) island in the Bass Strait, off the north east coast of Tasmania, Australia. The largest island of the Furneaux Group, Flinders Island, lies to the north, with the smaller Clarke Island to the south.
