Half Way Inspiration for Challenge #19 Use One or more Dies

Well my shopping list is very long now after seeing all the wonderful Dies that people have been using on their creations.  Thanks so much for sharing all the cards.  It is nice to see other papercrafts being entered too, like scrap pages and boxes.  Time to share with you some inspiration from the Design Team to keep you going this month.  Remember you are allowed to have three entries in each challenge.  You can enter here.  Challenge #19 - Use One or more Dies.

From Beth we have this lovely tri-fold card using a Tim Holtz Sizzex Caged Bird die which works so well with the Stampin Up bird punch.

Next Jan has used a Heart Shaped Dies to cut these shapes and then embossed them. Misted the background card stock and added a strip of fabric across the top.

Lastly Merry has dug out her Small and Large Octagons from Spellbinders to create this male style card.

Patricia's Third Email Entry

Patricia, is certainly having fun this month with our challenge.  This is her third entry for our Dies challenge. 

Patricia -  "I have used an embossed background the a circle die and embossed with Swiss Dots, added the largest Iron Works Motifs and then 3 handmade roses and leaves with white pearls."

Patricia says, "this is a card made for another crafting friend.I have made the card out of beige cardstock with the same colour that it is swiss dotted and then added a braided rick rack braid.  Then added frosty form die cut with a rose and beads. a punched corner on 2 sides."

Hi everyone an welcome to our very first challenge of 2013.  Hoping your year is going well so far.  What a pleasure to visit so many entries in our last challenge..... 110 entries with loads of inspiration.  Certainly made the task of choosing a Design Team Favourite very hard.

Time now for some inspiration from the 'Belles' on our Design Team.

Beth has used four different dies on her card.  Beth embossed her entire base card with Couture Creations 'Flutterby Dreamscapes' embossing folder.  Then coloured the embossed areas with her Copics.  The blue die cut doily and the green flourish are Cheery Lynn Dies.  The white doily is from Beth's stash. The next die is a white Spellbinders Beaded Circle which Beth positioned one of her Spellbinder Enhanceabilites pop up dies in the centre and cut both together.  Beth then die cut a Spellbinders Butterfly in three layers.  The sentiment is a sticker. Cathy made this card up from a card kit that one of the members of Craftmad made up for their recent inaugural Craftmad get together.   You can find more projects using these die cuts on Kaye's blog here.

Jan has used some wonderful patterned paper and star dies to create this fantastic card.  Also this was her first use of her sewing machine on a card. 

 Lauren has made this giftcard holder with a pocket to keep the card inside.  The papers and die cuts are from Kaisercraft with some added liquid pearl accents and ink edging.

Merry has used a combination of Spellbinder dies - Hexagon, Crown Circles and Scalloped Edged Circles on pre-wrinkled paper. The sentiment is a sticker.

Sarah has used die cuts to create the large, layered flower, then accented the patterned paper with smaller flower die cuts and various die cuts along the bottom.  The sentiment is a chipboard sticker. 

Susan has used a Memory Box die and Stampin Up die to create this card ready for Valentines Day.  Susan has used a small stamped sentiment which is permitted in the Rules here. We prefer that no stamps are used but we know that there are occasions, like Susan discovered that there are no stickers or rub-ons that are appropriate.  When this happens we just ask that the stamping is kept to a minimum.

Now it is time for you to dig out those dies and put them to good use.

Half Way Inspiration for our Christmas Challenge

Time for a little more inspiration from our talented Design Team.  Our Christmas challenge closes Friday, 4th January 2013.....so plenty of time to get your entries in.  Remember we have an amazing prize of 'Raspberry goodies' from our very own Beth of HuggiesCrafts.

Our first card is from Susan who has used a blank white card base, vintage image, washi tape, lace threaded with ricrac, rub-on and bling.

Next we have a card from Beth (our sponsor). For this card Beth used scraps of Stampin Up DSP's, and peel off stickers across the join. Beth die cut a plain circle and inked the edges then used a red and green brad to mount the metal Reindeer. The holly in the bottom corner is also metal and mounted with a red brad.

Now it is JanR's turn with this cute snowman card. JanR has used Doodle-Pop snowman stickers, torn paper, sentiment sticker and some bling.

A card from Cathy.  Cathy started with white pebble cardstock as a base, layered with red cardstock cut out with Cuttlebug and Spellbinders Square Die, swirls punched from Christmas Scrapbook papers and placed in Christmas Tree layout, embellished with gold peel-off stickers (the base of the tree is a 'left over' bit of sticker)  

This card is from Merry who cased it from a card she saw while browsing Pinterest.  The original creator is a lady called Germanstamper and you can see her card here.

Merry has drawn black lines, bows and the tops of the button baubles with her fine tip pen.  Then finished with a black 'Happy Christmas' sticker.

Inspiration from the Design Team

Susan has used Tim Holtz papers and distress inks to create the 'LOVE' banner; die cut ornament in gold card; free papers from a magazine.  Susan fussy cut the edge of the holly so that it could appear over the embossed SU cardstock.  The card is finished with a lovely ribbon and some bling.

Beth used a laser cut shaped card which she backed with Green and Gold glitter paper all from Blue Edge Crafts. Santa and other bits and pieces are stickers. Beth has stuck Santa to a piece of acetate leaving a tab at the top which is folded over and stuck down at the back so that Santa floats over the front of the card which you can see in the second photo. Behind Santa is s Merry Christmas  tag which comes from the same Kaisercraft 6 1/2" paper pack called December 25th.

Cathy used a Square Red card as a base, layered with Gold Shimmer cardstock cut out with Cuttlebug and Spellbinders Fleur De Lis Pendant, holly leaves punched out from two different shades of green, snowflakes punched out from white pearl paper and glued in a circle, clear and red gemstones added for some 'bling', gold peel-off stickers added to corners.

Merry has created this card using a laser cut front card from Blue Edge Crafts.  Added spotty paper from SU.  She then raided her paper scrap box to create these trees.  Merry has used her sewing machine to stitch all the sections together.  Finished with a gold Merry Christmas sticker.

Unstampabelles #17 - Monochromatic (No Stamps)

Great to see all your wonderful recylcing/repurposing ideas last month.  CD's, paint chips, paper bags, packaging, serviettes, muffin containers and wallpaper just to name a few of the items used.  The Design Team really enjoyed visiting and seeing your fun creations.

It took a lot of narrowing down to just one creation to showcase this month.

Hasn't Filharmonica done a wonderful job on making a brown paper bag look beautiful.  Other recycled items on this card are lace, string, buttons and coffee napkins or doilies.  Please visit blog 'Filharmonicas kreative verden' to see more of her terrific work.

Challenge #17 - Monochromatic

Inspiration from our talented Design Team

Sarah went with shades of grey and white for her card.   She has used a pre-printed punch-out sentiment, silver brads and grey and white twine.

Susan had a play with acetate for the front of this card.  Although Susan created the rolled roses from the same sheet of paper (shades of green) one rose has turned out bluer that the others.  Die cut leaves, pearls and rub-on sentiments finish this lovely creation.

Cathy learnt this technique of using lace punches and stringing them together a few years ago.  Great seeing old techniques used again.  Cardstock and papers used in this card are all 

purples shades. The paper that looks white is actually a pale pink pearl paper. Ribbon has been woven in an out of the lace punched shapes and pearls added to the centres.

Another card from Cathy....aren't these the cutest cat faces.  Cathy has created them with paper punched hearts and circles.  The card is make up of shades of pink cardstock (Stampin Up) and the sentiment is a rub-on.

JanR created this monochromatic card in shades of brown using her 

Silhouette Cameo cutting machine.  Cutting the tree image out of the newsprint paper and then backing it with the brown cardstock.  An embossing folder was used along the bottom of the card and then a ribbon, button and string attached.

Please welcome JessicaT again to our Design Team.....this is her first contribution to our challenge inspiration.  What a way to start with this shades of gold.  JessicaT has used patterned papers, satin krush ribbon, a brass charm tied on with twine.  Alpha stickers were used for the sentiment.

Lauren has used this wonderful photo to help her create this monochromatic scrap page in 

shades of red. Lauren has painted the chipboard word red and used her rolled flower die for the first time.  As you can see in the section next to the heart this is a wonderful way to use up your extra bits and bobs you wouldn't normally find a use for.

Merry has relied on her Stampin Up papers and cardstock to help her create this monochromatic card in shades of green.  She has cut squares of Design Paper into 3cm squares and attached.  Merry has used her Cheery Lynn Butterfly die for the first time.  Firstly she drew around the outline of the die and hand cut this out and ran it through the Lattice embossing folder then cut the green butterfly with the die.  Added the bling and the rub-on sentiment.

Blue Monochrome from Susan

This beautiful Christmas card is from Susan one of our DT (her blog).  What a wonderful way to create a monochromatic (all shades of the same colour) card.  Susan has used Co'Ordinates cardstock which she ran through a SU embossing folder then embossed to reveal another shade of blue. Cut the embossed panel into three and attached to the front of the card.  Then added some bling and a ribbon and a small stamped sentiment....which we do allow.  However we do like stamp sentiments kept to a minimum as you will see in our rules here.
