Hello Peeps:

Keep safe from COVID 19!!!

Meanwhile, I am deep in the crafting cave........

Week two of July's challenge and we are talking about all sorts of
relationships that can be celebrated!

Our TWIST this month is to work with pairs!

Before we share some inspiration for you,
it is time to announce June's winners

Random Winner No 7:  Elly

You know what to do Elly, to claim your prize!

The Design Team Favorite is

Number 9: Fit Kitty

Now for the inspiration for the July challenge!

At first glance you will say
"What has that to do with celebrating a relationship?"
and my reply is.....

"Celebrating the fact that the virus cannot steal my memories of travelling and
being in Paris! I will travel again when it is safe to do so and
in the meantime I will make fun of the bug!"

My pairs are word dies, papers, bugs and photo chips!

You have three weeks to create something special!

06 July 2020

July, here we come! Challenge:102: Celebrating Relationships!

and the TWIST is

work in pairs of things.....

So, to be clear, the challenge theme is

Celebrating RELATIONSHIPS.

Relationships aren't just about what happens in your love life!
Most important relationships do involve feelings but don't involve any romance,
for example with family, friends, work colleagues, pets and teachers.

My pictures below are not a pair but two photo's of the same humpback whale

....but I was thinking of our relationship with them now, especially compared
to our murderous relationship with them in the past, when whaling was a
way of life here in Tasmania in the 1800's.

We (or maybe I should say I) love to see these majestic animals in our local waters on their annual migration to and from the Antartic. These two photographs are a wonderful celebration of the current relationship where they no longer fear us as predators.

Brilliant photos of Humpback Whales heading north past Cape Barren Island thanks to Peter Marmion. Humpback whales travel northward to breeding areas off the coast of Queensland and Western Australia between May and July and return southward to their subantarctic feeding grounds between September and November.
Cape Barren Island (Palawa kani: truwana), part of the Furneaux Group, is a 478 square kilometre (185 sq mi) island in the Bass Strait, off the north east coast of Tasmania, Australia. The largest island of the Furneaux Group, Flinders Island, lies to the north, with the smaller Clarke Island to the south.
You can also follow Peter via instagram 👇

There are several pieces of design Team inspiration for you today apart from the photographs

Background paper is double sided, have used both sides for my double page spread.
Two photos have two people and both of those photos have been double mounted.
Two flowers on left page, plus two circular embellishments on each page.
Family enjoying a drink at a cafe.

My pairs are:
- mom and daughter
- two colors
- two designer papers
- two dies for the frame
- two set of two flowers that each have two flowers with two inks on the petals

Now you have four weeks to create your own piece of work around the theme of

Celebrating Relationships!

Please, no stamps used in your work - we are UNstampABLES

Final Week for Challenge#101: Magic!

Hello Peeps
The last week to bring out the magical and create something that represents

Magic

for you and as a TWIST can be related to one of the many Walt Disney films made over the years since the early 1930's.

Googling Walt Disney films gives us three pages--it is pretty easy to just link to an idea and create something quite magical!

While you do not have to follow the twist to enter - it is fun, a further challenge AND
you might be chosen as a DT Favorite!

Remember - NO STAMPS.
We are still getting people entering pieces of work where a stamp is front and centre.
They are just disqualified.

The usual prize is available

$15 Aust
payable either through Paypal
or as a voucher to an on-line shop that accepts Paypal

Our team are all struggling with Corona related issues or technology issues
this week and so there are no inspirational pieces to show you

Please remember you are  not restricted to cards

Walt Disney made lots of films - nature and the environment features
as do animals and birds--and even inanimate objects like cups and saucers!

A pretty special sunrise from the Rocky Cape National Park, on Tassie’s north-west coast, thanks to
Krissy Logan
who says

“Promise me you will not spend so much time treading water and trying to keep your head above the waves that you forget, truly forget, how much you have always loved to swim.” ~ Tyler Knott Gregson

You can also follow Krissy via instagram ðŸ‘‡

Walt also made lots of fantasy films and created many characters

Perhaps one of these images will inspire you!

You have until midnight on Friday!
