Challenge #9 - Easter, bonus technique Extra Folds (more than one fold)

Another month is upon us.  Thanks to everyone who entered our February challenge with their inspiring recycling and frugal papercraft projects.  It was wonderful to see too, that a couple of people put Susan's wonderful paper bead tutorial to good use.  I really liked the variety of ways these beads were used on your creations. i.e. create a discus (flower) design, handle for oven, edge a box....all terrific.  It was also great to see the array of papercraft projects this month scrapbooking, boxes and flowers.

First off this month is our Guest Designer Hannelie.

Hannelie was part of the DT call a couple of months ago. All the runners up were offered a Guest Design spot.

Hannelie has used a pattern papers, ribbon, paper flowers and pearls also a computer generated sentiment on her creation.

Rabbit cut out with CraftROBO, layered and highlighted with chalks and kindy glitz.  All cardstock used in this card came from Blue Edge Crafts.  

JanR 

Gate Fold card using an Easter cardstock sticker from her stash.

Merry

Double step card.  Cardstock from Blue Edge Crafts includes - Bazzill, Bazzill Two Scoops, Linen Textured cardstock.  Merry has also used Spellbinders from Blue Edge Crafts.  Spellbinder Circle die was used for the basket....circle cut in half and the base trimmed although you can't see it.  Eggs were created with Spellbinder Oval Classic die.

Monica

Has used textured white card stock and have made the bunny with her Cuttlebug round nesties, Mc Gill label punch and Carla craft punch.

The DP is a free-bie from Card Making and Paper Craft magazine.

For the inners of the bunny's ears, Monica cut the same oval punch into two and shaped it a bit with  scissors.

The bunny has been sponged with TH distressed ink - Spun Sugar. The paws have been coloured in with colouring pencils. Monica stuck googly eyes and some ribbon on the bunny.

The lace border on top and picket fence are Martha Stewart punches. The eggs were sent to Monica by a dear friend.

The tiny pink flowers on the bunny's ears and the border have been cut out of a ribbon. The pink ribbon at the bottom is from her stash.

Stacie

A great example of a papercraft project other than a card.

Susan

Susan used her Spellbinders Egg die and then embossed with several different embossing folders. The flags are from the Spellbinders Pennants die, which she inked before removing the die. The pebble letters are stick-ons. Susan stitched the white background onto the Pool Party background, then stitched some orange bag nylon onto the card to form the nest! 

Annmaree

This is a Gate Fold card.   The rabbit image tag flap across the centre opening of the card.  Annmaree used her Cricut and paper punches for this card.

Beth

Has used a Greg Sukendro design this month.

Beth has used Bazzil basics cardstock, Tim Coffey 6 x 6 DSP, Stampin Up punches and a Kaiser Circle punch.  Each piece of the bunny is indivdually cut, inked, shaped then constructed. The sentiment is computer generated.  The Card is a Buckle card (tutorial here at Craftmad) in that the tab on the right hand side goes behind the circle topper into a slot.

Paper Beads from Merry

I wanted to also share this card today perfect for our recycle challenge here at Unstampabelles.  The blue star is a bottle lid which I found on the street in Gordonvale outside of one of our many pubs (4 to be exact).  No I had just been to the Florist to have coffee.  The silver section of the card is alfoil.  I was inspired by our Guest Designer Olivia this month and also one of my tennis partners to use the foil in the embossing folder.  Comes out beautifully....this is four layers of alfoil.

I made the paper bead also.  Brought back terrific memories.  When I was a kid we made heaps of these with our Mum.  We hung them in our bedroom door entrance as a curtain/screen.

Isn't this so pretty.  Who would think that these beads started out as paper.  Please visit Stacie's blog to find out more detail on how she achieved this wonderful look.  It has been so terrific seeing how many people have been travelling outside their comfort zone and having a go at paper beads and adding them to their project.  Also so great to see you have been putting Susan's wonderful Paper Bead Tutorial to good use.

More Inspiration from the Design Team

We have seen some inventive ideas for recycling in your entries.  The mesh bags are proving to be a big favourite for adding texture to your creations.  Thanks for joining in.  Here are a few more ideas from the Design Team on ways that you can recycling those items around the house.

All perfect for our Recycling Challenge #8

Annmaree made some monsters from bread tags on a card. She has used a little paint and googlie eyes.  Aren't these just the cutest......I am now saving all my bread tags.

JanR has used ribbon scrap, bling from a card that she describes as an epic fail and an ancient Dymo Labeller that she rescued from being thrown in the trash.  I just love the whole grunge look...the background is so terrific.

Monica - has made a quick card with bits of an old birthday invitation...
Thomas and the borders have been cut out from the invite while the clouds stickers and balloons are from her stash.
Monica popped up the balloons and Thomas image with dimensional foam dots.
Ordinary sewing thread was used to tie the balloons.

 Susan has very cleverly used the packing that came with this terrific frame.  The black is the backing card for the frame package.  Susan has also reused the acetate that the frame was sitting on to put inside the frame.  The flower image is the background packing to the beautiful adhesive stones she has used.  What a wonderful way to recycle using the item and the packaging.

Now the Design Team ladies have been working hard this month to come up with some fantastic ways to recycle and be frugal with items from around the house.  Be sure to visit their blogs for more details.

First off this month is our Guest Designer Olivia.

Olivia was part of the DT call a couple of months ago. All the runners up were offered a Guest Design spot.

Olivia used My Mind Eye-Love 6x6 Pad for paper.  Made the embossed background with aluminum foil and just embossed it witha her Cuttlebug.  Olivia used coffee filters for the making of the flower and the background behind the tag simply by spraying them with reinker and then smearing gold ink all over it and then using Stickle Glue to edge it with.  Pearls are self-adhesive and the sentiments are stickers. 

Beth recycled wrapping paper (the blue metalic) the brown is recycled packing paper which comes in her Stampin Up order. The paper beads are her fist ever attempt at making these.

Cathy has recycled the white panel which is the cardboard divider in the Lipton's Tea Bag box.

JanR has used these recycled items: some scraps, buttons from a shirt being cut into rags, paper beads from a flyer/magazine destined for the recycle bin (Sentiment is computer-generated from Word.)

Monica has used a newspaper print of Sawunggnaling Batik. This is a special type of Batik (apparently there are many different types of Batik in Indonesia). The edges have been hand torn to add more charm to it. The round nesties have been punched using scrap paper lying on her table. Monica has used her deckle edged scissors to make the second nestie smaller as she only has one circle that size. The flowers are home-made and the crystals are from Prima. Monica has used green crepe paper for the leaves - folded it into two and then cut it manually. The ribbon is from her stash.

Merry started with a base box from a Christmas present - mobile phone.  She then made a lid out of card stock and adhered Magazine Reeds to the lid.  Tutorial here. Magazine Reeds are pages of a magazine rolled up.....bit like a large paper bead. The maroon flower is from a flower that Merry used to have in the house on display for a couple of years and has pulled it apart.  The button is from her stash. 

Stacie is clever and used paper beads for her entire project.  Don't they make the most wonderful necklace.  Now if you were to enter something like this.....this would be your entry and a bonus entry also. :-)

Sweet Inspiration from Stacie

This wonderful Softie Socks Cupcake is from Stacie.

Isn't this a great gift idea and a wonderful paper project without a stamp to be seen.

100 Followers and one lucky winner

Woohoo!!!!  

We have made 100 followers thanks to everyone for joining up and following our monthly challenges since the start in July 2011.  The Design Team of Unstampabelles have been secretly watching the followers total creep up to 100.  We decided to put together a small prize to celebrate the occasion and send off to the lucky 100th follower......who happens to Cheryl for Cheryl's Creative Art.

Unstampabelles Halfway Inspiration

  Above we have this wonderful sporty card from JanR.

Who has used cardstock, stickers and some paper doll-type punch outs.

Morning everyone....the Design Team have been busy coming up with more papercraft ideas without the use of one single stamp.  We hope this will inspire you all.  

All the members of the Design Team are so excited to see so many entries in our current Challenge #7 - Anything Goes.  There are so many talented people out there and it is a pleasure to visit your blogs and see what you can do with a simple piece of paper.  So keep those entries coming we currently have 82 entries it would be so exciting to reach 100.  Remember you can enter up to three times.

Now on to the rest of our Design Team creations.

This wonderful gift box is from Susan.  Who was very clever and used a Darrel Lea chocolate box she received as a template.  Susan has also made her own rose with die cut leaves.  The label was punched with an SU punch and mounted on some red card, then trimmed, a rub-on coloured up with a Copic pen. It takes several chocolates such as Fererro Rocher.  Apparently the DP is Kaiser and the rose is made with left overs after. There is a Kaiser pearl in the rose as well.

This card is from Beth and is a Pergamano Card. very apt for the current Cricket season (It's summer here in Australia)

Monica has created this beautiful purple card.  Isn't that such a clever way to use a die by weaving a mauve silk cord through a Spellbinder  nestie. Then attaching one of her home-made flowers. The "create a border punch" is from MS. Also used are DP which is unknown and feathers and ribbon. The crystal is from Prima.

This altered Address book is from Stacie.

The Design Paper she has used is just stunning and such a wonderful flower it fits the DP perfectly.

This is from me Merry.  I have created this card for my wonderful sister who has a birthday next Tuesday.  I found a tutorial for this pop up card at QBees Quest I have also cased the front of her card as I thought it was a perfect finish to the card.  I have used Stampin Up papers and cardstock.  The candles I have coloured with my Copic pens.  Added some ribbon to the front and the tag I cut out myself and added the gold rub on sentiment.
