Challenge#118: To the most Wonderful Time of the Year with a TWIST of KIS

#118: The Most Wonderful Time of the Year!

TWIST:  Keep it simple please

Yes, it is that time of the year again - Christmas!

I cannot believe (truly, this time) that another year has flown bye.... and we are well into the month already. There are officially 19 days to go until the big red jolly man climbs down the chimney (sounds a bit creepy, doesn't it) and delivers presents under the tree.

But only if you have been good all year!

Dale as usual has produced a fabulous piece to start us off so what can you come up with to fit this theme?  The TWIST is to keep it all simple - and when making Christmas cards that is what I know I try to do. Remember, it can be anything that is paper based except for using stamps. NO STAMPS PLEASE.

Oh, and sorry for the ear worm with the theme

#117 Colour My World November Challenge

 Hello Peeps

Welcome to November

The challenge this month is.......

#117: November: Colour my World

TWIST: make it colourful

This is quite an open theme - it can be about someone colouring your world, or about something colourful in your world or about colour -what is your favorite?

My favorite colour would have to be green but red is a close one behind: then I think I like all the other colours equally but I sure do like a world in colour rather than black and white or worse, multiple shades of grey

What is your favorite?

Remember, your entry can be anything paper related but cannot have a stamp - people sometimes think sentiment stamps don't count but they do......NO STAMPS at all please.

Dale created a beautiful pair of cards for this month's theme and TWIST

October's Challenge: #116: Every One has a Story....TWIST: use a book page somewhere in piece

Hello Peeps!

October has snuck up and so we have a new challenge

#116: Everyone has a Story

TWIST: use a page from a book somewhere in your piece

This challenge is quite open to interpretation - it can be about birthdays, adventures, events or even a 'just because' or perhaps even a sympathy card. You can make a scrap page or pages, a journal page or a card, or make a 3D object that reflects a story. Just remember, no stamps please and if you want to be in the running for DT favourite or the $15 random number draw you should also have a go at the twist.

My story this week - we had to get a new printer (old one was 10 + years and just refused to work)
This is Bingo while I was setting it up and putting it through the test print....

Always have to have an office manager......

Hope you are having a safe and happy time and that there is a positive story going on for you....

Dale opens the DT inspiration each month and does not disappoint yet again

What are you going to do for this challenge?

Challenge #115: Salutations and Greetings TWIST stencils in background

September's Challenge is : Salutations and Greetings

TWIST stencils in background

Hello Peeps!

Welcome to another challenge here at Unstampabelles. This month it is a bit open to interpretation and will suit all mediums. You can either make your greeting the centre of your piece or refer to different greetings in different languages perhaps, or create a piece that is all greetings, or just greet someone,  or.......or......or do whatever comes to mind to suit the theme - just remember, no stamps please.

The TWIST of a stencilled background is to get you using those stencils laying around in some form or other - or you can make your own stencil and use that to create a background. The background can be in chalk, paint, ink, whatever (might draw the line at blood and other bodily fluids)  but we must see the stencilling clearly to make sure it is not a stamp. Some stencils and stamps look so alike.

A 3D object made from card that has been stencilled or a scrapbook page or a journal piece....or a card! Whatever direction your creative juices can take you with this is fine.

Dale introduces her piece to you as inspiration - a scrap page......and its a beauty! Subtle stencilling behind the image makes the photo grounded in the page.

What can you come up with I wonder?

August Challenge#114: It's All About Me! Twist is to use a self portrait

Hello Peeps!

Well, its August already and time for a new challenge, but first a check in to the state of Tasmania!

We are only a small island off the bottom of the Australian mainland BUT
this is where Ariane Titmus grew up!

Who is she?

She has just won a few medals at the Olympics and they are all the colours - Gold, Silver and bronze!

We are all so proud of her.

Not only that but we are COVID FREE at the moment and able to move around freely

Soooo,

As this month is my birthday as well,  I made it

ALL ABOUT ME!

with the TWIST of  using a self portrait
BUT the portrait does not have to be a photo!

What can you make of that?

Remember, it an be a card, a tag, a scrap page, a journal page or a 3D paper thingy!
BUT no stamps please!

Dale made a scrap page to inspire you!

Challenge #113; Art and all that Jazz TWIST is make it multi media

Hi Peeps,

Welcome to July!

The challenge this month is quite open to interpretation

It is called

Art and all that Jazz

The TWIST is to make it a multi media piece of work

mul·ti·me·di·a

(mÅl′tÄ“-mÄ“′dÄ“-É™, -tÄ«-)

The combined use of media

OR

Of or relating to the combined use of several media: a multimedia installation at the art gallery.

Now, techniquely  any piece of multi media is ART so the twist is done along with the theme! However, you can create with whatever art you are into: music, painting, carving, writing, drawing, making stuff................the art of craft........... as long as you don't use stamps and it is paper craft related.......

PS: You don't have to incorporate jazz into it either but if you want to....let it rip!

You have four weeks to apply your brain to the task and create something to enter.....

Here are some idea's to get you started

Dale

December is Here! Yah! New challenge #107: Joy, with a Twist of music!

 Hello fellow crafters!

Hope you are all well and staying away from that crazy Covid until the needle is ready
and keep on crafting away!

We are supposed to be in summer but in Tasmania it is snowy and raining and
windy and bloody cold! I have the heater running - amazing!
However, by midweek they are telling us it will be back up into the 20's again....

Want to see a spectacular walk here in Tassie?

Now you know why I live here and love it so much

December's new challenge is simply

JOY

with the TWIST being a musical one!

Joy is defines as : the emotion evoked by well-being, success, or good fortune or by the prospect of possessing what one desires : DELIGHT; the expression or exhibition of such emotion : GAIETY: a state of happiness or felicity : BLISS: a source or cause of delight

It does not have to be a Christmas card but it might well be one - or a tag or a scrap page,
or a 3D item or even a bit of multi-media!

The Design Team are all over this one!

Wynn

I have made a fancy fold card.

Mine is all about recycling last years cards....

November Challenge#106: Believe with the TWIST of Unusual Fold

Well, it is November already! The Challenge this month is

Believe

What does that word mean?   To have confidence in the truth, the existence, or the reliability of something or someone, although without absolute proof that one is right in doing so.

Can be in a person or a myth or fairy tale.........or yourself.

TWIST : use an unusual fold

Wynn has made an intriguing fold here.

I will need to go to her blog to see how it is done!

Wynn

Now both the samples today have the word 'believe' in the text but it is not necessary as long as the  theme of 'believe' is clear in the scrap page, tag, card or whatever you make

You must follow the theme but the TWIST is up to you........

Susan

(sorry, only an ordinary fold on this one)

The Design Team have turned out trumps again......

Wynn

A tag on a card. Inspired by my Mum who introduced me to crafting at a young age.

All the women who played with Clean and Simple in the 2000's

Week One for September Challenge#104: Phoenix (rising from the ashes) TWIST use an embossing folder

 Well Hello peeps!

Welcome to the first Monday in September! I hope you are all doing well and keeping clear of that nasty old virus. It is Springtime here and we are enjoying sunshine and warmth as well as winds and snow. We are feeling hopeful though - and our island has no COVID19. we feel like we are coming out of adversity ....a bit like the Pheonix really, rising from the fire and ashes.

'Golden Hour' over the Southwest National Park , Tasmania
Thanks to Benjamin Alldridge.

You know, I set these challenges back in January - well before we had heard of the pandemic and each month the challenge titles seem more prophetic. There is a lot of hardship out there and a lot of people suffering but I know from history that we will rise again from this. We don't know in what shape or condition but we will be OK in the end.

So, let's see what you can produce with a theme of rising from adversity like a phoenix and don't forget to use the TWIST of an embossing folder somewhere in your work.

There is the normal prize available

$15 Aust
