Midway through March - are the hares running yet?

We have hares here in Tasmania - they are an introduced pest, similar to the rabbits!

I always think of the March Hare about this time and Alice.........
Spring must be about to Spring in the northern climes!

Perhaps you could paint a wooden egg or two?

Anyone else notice that the Easter eggs are out and about in the shops, along with the Easter buns?

Time to remind you that you have two weeks left to enter our latest challenge -

#77: Decorate Something Wooden

Twist - get messy with paints

What exactly does that mean?

I have a wooden spatula - can I decorate that?
I have lots of wooden embellies - can I use them?
What about wooden buttons?
Can I use a twig from a tree?
What about an old box that needs rejuvenating?
Perhaps I can build a box or frame or similar from scratch?
The answer to all these questions is YES

The TWIST is the use paint
Does the paint have to go on the wood?
Do I have to use paint on everything?
Will I necessarily have to use a paintbrush?

The answer to these questions if NO

This month we have a prize donated by one of the DT members Dale
Thank you Dale

Please remember - NO STAMPS to be used

Dale has made a beautiful frame for us to use as inspiration

and
has made another card for us.

See - not that hard after all!

Check out the rest of the posts for this challenge and check out some of the entries to date - we even have one in that uses pencil shavings!!!

Tasmania is again becoming known as the apple isle, thanks to local cider producers performing at the top of their game.

Would you work in Wood? Challenge #77: Decorate something wooden

Welcome to Autumn - what a lovely couple of days so far. We have had sunshine during the day and mostly rain at night! The days are warm and the sun is shining and the sky is blue! That doesn't mean we haven't had a few moody days too:

WOW… a truly stunning sunset over Cape Hauy, on the Tasman Peninsula, thanks to Emilie Brooke who says:

Moody sunset skies over Cape Hauy!
A trip that we will remember for a lifetime.
I didn't actually realise how different the landscape and fauna is down there it's like a whole different world! One I'd love to head back to in the future! .

I hope this finds my many Peeps warm and cosy! The Beast has done his work indeed in Europe and the UK I am told. I hope our crafty friends across the Atlantic have stayed warm and well as well!

So, on to a new challenge!

Now, you don't need to to make something from wood, just decorate a piece of wood.
You might have something in your stash that is suitable or you may have a piece that can be repurposed or recyled.

Last week I repurposed a small wooden book box from a cheap shop with multimedia paints
You can find details HERE

Wynn has created a beautiful box - you could keep potpourri in here or crafty bits!

I chose to make a tag and paint up a wooden sentiment

It is to accompany a present for a significant birthday

What are you going to choose to do?
Remember, it doesn't have to be a big bit of wood!!!

Enter your piece at the Linky!
Remember, no stamps please - so many stencils around now, why do you need them!

I look a bit like this little fellow when I see that we have an entry with stamps
It makes me sad and worried

 A.W. Photography Tasmania who says:

So many of our native wildlife die on our roads every year simply from crossing the road or loitering on the side.😪 We saved this li'l guy on the Tasman Highway near Myrtle Forest from a log truck fast approaching down the mountain. Close call li'l fella! Only a baby echidna too, who is obviously still learning the dangers surrounding him 🚗🚙🛣🚚🚍

Challenge #67: Anything Goes -plus winners from December!

Hi Everyone - hope you week has been a good one.

We are having a lovely end to summer, with sunshine, warmth and blue skies mostly - just enough rain so that you don't need to put on the watering system.

Have you ever felt a total wreck? Yes, me too. Those days when.....but you know, not all wrecks are negative! Some have a a rare beauty of their own. There is a wreck of a ship just up a few bays from my house at a place called Otago Bay.

Says photographer Phil "The wreck of the Otago in the eponymous Otago Bay, Tasmania. The ship is famous for having been captained at one point by the novelist Joseph Conrad, perhaps best known as the author of Heart of Darkness, which I attempted to read back when I thought reading penguin classics would make me more interesting." 😂😅We've all been there!
www.instagram.com/philkitt

Have you read any Joseph Conrad?
I did back in the day but don't think I got too deeply into Heart of Darkness....
So many interesting people came to Tasmania in the past -
as still do. You would be surprised to know who lives here and who has recently visited.
Love me a good sunset over that mountain - Mt Wellington kunanyi

Time to announce the winners for December last year
#75: Zentangle your way to Christmas....

This is the random number prize

February's Challenge #76: Anything Goes (no stamps)TWIST use anything newly acquired

Well, welcome back folks to a new year of challenges with the 'Belles at Unstampabelles!

Welcome to the new followers too and we hope you find this a happy place.

Firstly, a photo from sunny Tasmania to make you want to travel!

Wow, what a view this old building has 👀. You'll spot plenty of these pleasingly dilapidated old farmhouses around Hobart and Beyond, but not all of them are situated in such an impressive location. This one was spotted near Tinderbox which is an easy 45 minute drive from Hobart and is well known for its Marine Nature Reserve featuring great swimming, snorkelling and scuba diving.
Image: www.instagram.com/madeintazzie

This area is known as The Channel and when my husband and I still had our small sailing boat we would go "down the Channel" for three weeks most summers. I know this building too - it was on the farm of one of my school friends and I spent a weekend or two at that farm. Unfortunately, the farm house was burnt down in the 1967 bushfires but the old shed didn't burn and is still there!

On with the challenge!
